On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is our immense pleasure to welcome you to the Tripartite Medical Education Conference 2023 co-organised by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Academy), Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong. The conference will be held at the Academy Building on 14-15 January 2023, with an option for overseas participants to attend virtually.

The Academy, playing its statutory role to maintain high standards of medical and dental specialist training in Hong Kong, has been organising an annual educational event since 2013. In celebration of its 30th anniversary in 2023, the Academy joins hands with the two local medical faculties to hold an inaugural Tripartite Medical Education Conference on “Actualising the Curriculum Continuum”. The conference theme will help promote exchange, coordination and planning of education and training of tomorrow’s doctors along the continuum of their professional journey from being a medical student to a specialist. Through symposia and plenaries, hands-on workshops with leading experts around the main theme, the conference offers an exclusive networking and knowledge sharing experience. Some interactive discussion sessions are also included, such as a roundtable titled “Ten Years Down the Line”, a debate session focusing on the internship training for medical graduates, and a symposium exploring the prevailing well-being issues being faced by the medical profession.

The conference will bring together local and overseas medical experts, including representatives from the Academy, the two local medical faculties and the Hospital Authority. Members from the Academy’s Young Fellows Chapter will also share insights from the perspectives of young doctors in a symposium.
